Keep our Elections (and Your Loved Ones) Safe

by Will Sedlack • April 1, 2020

This is a challenging time.

It’s probably safe to assume you’ve shifted your priorities in every aspect of your life. We understand, and we’re with you. Bills, schedules, kids, social distancing – with so much uncertainty, it’s easy to feel powerless.

As we navigate our daily lives, the July Primary Election and November Presidential Election are fast approaching. These races will have serious consequences for all of us. With both your safety and the importance of making your voice heard in mind, we’re encouraging you to vote by absentee ballot.

If you are already registered to vote, you can request an absentee ballot here, by clicking on the red button (one button is for uniformed or overseas voters and one is for all other Maine people) that applies to you. You can request an absentee ballot TODAY for the July primary, however, ballots won’t be sent out until after May 8th. The Bureau of Elections website has a great FAQ page with more information on how absentee voting works.

Despite the challenges we’re facing, it’s been inspiring to see how Maine people continue to care for their neighbors and greater community. Absentee voting is another way you can keep yourself, your family, and your neighbors safe. Our democracy depends on your participation.
